As part of an advanced internationalization process of the Italian academic system, the Italian Ministry for Education, Universities and Research (MIUR) has recently signed an agreement with Cambridge Assesment Group, Europe’s largest assessment agency of evaluation tests.
By virtue of this agreement, foreign student who wish to enrol in Italy for medicine courses taught in English may take the admission test in English at the Italian academic institutions or at locations abroad.
Upon decision by the MIUR, the International Medical Admissions Test (IMAT) for admission to master studies in Medicine and Surgery taught in English in the academic year 2013-2014, will take place on April 15th 2013. The test has been created by the MIUR with the assistance of Cambridge Assessment.
The list with the examination times and locations of the tests to be held in Italy and abroad, as well as the number of seats available, is included in the Ministerial Order MIUR 14.02.2013 – which may be downloaded from the address: http://attiministeriali.miur.it/anno-2013/febbraio/dm-14022013.aspx.
The registration for the Admissions Test (IMAT) for admission to the master studies in Medicine and Surgery taught in English for the academic year 2013-2014 must be carried out online through the MIUR portal Universitaly, http://www.universitaly.it/index.php/students/IMATregistration within the time frame indicated on the portal.
Please note that the Admissions Test (IMAT) for the master studies in Medicine and Surgery taught in English only applies to the universities mentioned in the aforesaid Ministerial Order (i.e. Università di Bari, Università di Milano, Napoli Seconda Università, Università di Pavia, Roma La Sapienza Medicina e Farmacia Policlinico, Roma Tor Vergata).
